Welkom

The very modern youth hostel lies in front of a beautiful dune area and is only a 10 minute walk away from the very wide sandy beach of Oostduinkerke.

On less sunny days folklore, museums and amusement parks can entertain you. Here are a few ideas : the shrimp-fishermen on horseback, the Abbey Ter Duinen, the National Fishery Museum, the Delvaux Museum and Plopsaland amusement park for the little ones.

(1) As a non-member you can also acquire your membership through the special introductory offer. You will be allowed a stay at a hostel without a membership card. Instead you’ll receive a guest membership card and pay a supplement per overnight stay. In exchange you’ll get a “Welcome Stamp” on your guest card. Once you have 6 stamps on your card you’ll have acquired a valid international membership and you’ll enjoy the normal tariffs. 
Mind you, you’ll be a lot cheaper off if you become a HI-member, in which case you’ll get a discount voucher as well. Keep in mind that in some countries the supplement for a “Welcome Stamp” comes more expensive than in Flanders.

  • Children discounts for families.

    • Children under 3 stay free.

    • Children under 12 get a discount of ±20% for bed and breakfast and meals when accompanied by at least one adult.

  • Group tariffs are the same as the individual adult tariff.

    • groups must be in possession of a group membership card. 

    • Every 16th person of a group stays free.

Travel Guide

Car:

Get off the motorway A18 (E40) at exit 2 (Oostduinkerke). Follow the N330 in the direction of Oostduinkerke. Mind the speed trap! At the crossing in the village of Oostduinkerke (near the church), make an S-turn (left-right with the church on you right hand side). This will direct you to Oostduinkerke-Bad. After about 1,5 km you’ll see a massive brick church on your left. The Duinparklaan is a few meters further on your right hand side. The hostel is about 1 km down the road on your left side.

Train:

To "De Panne". Take the bus or tram to Oostduinkerke and get off at the stop “Duinpark”, opposite the filling station “Pollet”. The filling station is on the corner of the Duinparkparklaan. About 1 km down the road you’ll see the hostel on your right hand side.

tram:

The easiest way of travelling along the Belgian coastline is the tram (Kusttram).
Take the tram to Oostduinkerke and get off at the stop “Duinpark”, opposite the filling station “Pollet”. The filling station is on the corner of the Duinparkparklaan. About 1 km down the road you’ll see the hostel on your right hand side.

bus:

Bus 69 “Veurne-Nieuwpoort-Oostende” takes you to Oostduinkerke village. Get off at the stop “Witte Burg” near a massive brick church. The Duinparklaan is a few meters further opposite the church. The hostel is about 1 km down the road on your left side.

Airplane:

Brussels national airport at 140 km. (travel by train from there)
The Regional airport "Oostende" is located at less than 20 km of the hostel (Travel by tram from there).
