’T Schipken’ is a converted 17th century farm situated on the bank of the river Dender.

The hostel offers a lot of comfort but has kept its authentic charm.

At the estate “De Gavers” you can rent bicycles, sail, surf, go canoeing and climb from May to September.

The region is also worth exploring on foot or by bike.

(1) As a non-member you can also acquire your membership through the special introductory offer. You will be allowed a stay at a hostel without a membership card. Instead you’ll receive a guest membership card and pay a supplement per overnight stay. In exchange you’ll get a “Welcome Stamp” on your guest card. Once you have 6 stamps on your card you’ll have acquired a valid international membership and you’ll enjoy the normal tariffs. 
Mind you, you’ll be a lot cheaper off if you become a HI-member, in which case you’ll get a discount voucher as well. Keep in mind that in some countries the supplement for a “Welcome Stamp” comes more expensive than in Flanders.

    • Children under 12 get a discount of ±20% for bed and breakfast and meals when accompanied by at least one adult.
